Certificate III in Music Industry (Business)

Purpose
To introduce management, marketing & business practices in the live & recorded sectors of the Australian entertainment & music industries.
Outcome
Students successfully completing the Certificate III in Music Industry (Business) will be able to:
- Work under supervision in a music business company
- Explain how the music industry works
- Organise their own work and career
Depending on electives taken:
- Organise events and/or regional tours, market and release a CD and/or run a music venue.
- Promote and market music products and services
Delivery
Delivery of this qualification, or delivery of individual competencies units from this qualification, using the Ausmusic Training Plan, must be by a Registered Training Organisation, with a site licence number issued by the national co-ordinating body in Australia, Ausmusic Ltd.
Structure
To attain the Certificate III in Music Industry (Business), achieve 12 competency units, all of the six units in Group A plus at least four units from Group B. The other two units may be drawn from Group B and/or the unit bank for Certificate III.
Two units may be drawn from another endorsed industry training package at Certificate III level.
Nominal Duration
The Certificate III in Music Industry (Business) comprises of 240 hours in Group A and 93-153 hrs from Group B, or other units.
