To provide students with a wide range of knowledge and skills to be able to work in the music industry in a variety of music technology and related fields, including live technology, multimedia and recording technology.
At the completion of the Certificate III in Music Industry (Technical Production), students will be able to:
- Work under supervision in live / studio audio - local environment
- Work safely, maintaining work/contractual relations
- Understand the way the music industry functions
Depending on electives taken:
- Build listening and aural training skills
- Operate a non-commercial studio
- Set up and operate PA for a small venue
- Create a website for an artist, and/or a video clip
Delivery of this qualification, or delivery of individual competencies units from this qualification, using the Ausmusic Training Plan, must be by a Registered Training Organisation, with a site licence number issued by the national co-ordinating body in Australia, Ausmusic Ltd.
To attain the Certificate III in Music Industry (Technical Production) achieve 12 competency units; all of the units from Group A plus at least six units from Group B and three others. The other units may be drawn from Group B/or the unit Bank for Certificate III. Two of the remaining units may be drawn from another endorsed industry training package at Certificate III.
The Certificate III in Music Industry (Technical Production) comprises of 156 hours of study units and 90 – 174 hours from Group B, plus three others.
