Certificate I in Music Industry (Foundation)

Purpose                                   
To provide students with broad based knowledge and skills required to begin a career in the music industry in a variety of sectors, including performance/composition, business and technology.

Outcome
At the completion of Certificate I in Music Industry (Foundation) students will be able to:

  • Gain an insight into the industry sectors and career opportunities
  • Listen more effectively to music
  • Write a song
  • Gain basic skills in performance, technology and/or business

Delivery                                   
Delivery of this qualification, or delivery of individual competencies units from this qualification, using the Ausmusic Training Plan, must be by a Registered Training Organisation, with a site licence number issued by the national co-ordinating body in Australia, Ausmusic Ltd.

Structure
To attain the Certificate I in Music (Foundation) CUS10101, achieve six competency units; three core competency units and three others.

Nominal Duration
Total of 90 hours of core study units and 39-69 hours of electives =  Total of 123-158 hours (depending on electives chosen).
